After the first time, he grabbed a warm cloth and cleaned me, washing away his claim. But it was embedded in my soul. I would never forget my first time. It was everything I had imagined and more. Brent was so much more than I expected. He was worth the wait.

Those words made my heart swell and my legs tingle. I loved that he wasn’t afraid or timid about sharing his feelings. Besides my bold steps to make Brent mine, I rarely shared my emotions. After my parents died, I found it easier to shut down. I built a wall around my heart to stop the hurt. Holding my true feelings bottled inside allowed me to move ahead with life. But it also meant, I never let myself truly feel. Max and I had that in common. But I refused to reach his age and still shy away from relationships.
